Synergistic Building Technologies, Inc. was founded in Boulder, Colorado in the summer of 2007 to develop, manufacture, and market products that enhance the energy performance and comfort of buildings. The first family of products being developed is automated insulating shutters and associated electronic controls   Initial work on these products was accomplished by the Synertech Systems Corporation, whose key staff members are also involved in SBT’s work.

In the last two years we have shifted our focus to the development of super efficient solar greenhouses and key subsystems.  Not surprisingly, this includes several varieties of insulating shutters and electronic controls for these plus other greenhouse activities.  See the Greenhouses page of this web site for recent activities.

Active daylighting and hybrid solar systems that harvest solar light and heat, putting it to several uses at once, are also under consideration.

Our aim is to raise the quality of the built environment, both new and retrofit, and save substantial quantities of energy through elegant designs that are practical, aesthetically appealing, and genuinely green.
